Zazu, born Jessi Zazu Wariner, died surrounded by friends and family at Centennial Hospital in the singer’s native Nashville, The Tennessean reports. Jessi Zazu, the guitarist, singer and co-founder of Those Darlins who blended indie rock with country, died Tuesday following a lengthy and public battle with cervical cancer. Zazu’s family and friends have asked anyone wishing to make a donation for the service and Zazu’s remaining medical expenses to visit her YouCaring site. UPDATE: A memorial for Zazu will be held on Sunday, September 17th at Fort Houston in Nashville.
